Prof Francisca Oladipo Appointed The CEO of VODAN Africa

Prof Francisca Oladipo has been appointed the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Value-driven Ownership of Data and Accessibility Network (VODAN) Africa.
From its inception, Prof Oladipo, a Professor of Computer Science and a Fellow of the Pan-Africa Scientific Research Council, has been serving as the Executive Director of VODAN, previously known as Virus Outbreak Data Network, Africa. This appointment will help her champion VODAN's mission of creating a platform for the creation of real-time, high-velocity clinical observational patient data from resource-limited communities.
She was trained in Machine Learning, Big Data Analytics and Data Science at the Institute of Analytics and Data Science, University of Essex, UK, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Madrid, Spain and the University of Oxford.
Prof Oladipo is also the Vice-Chancellor of Thomas Adewumi University (TAU) in Nigeria, renowned for its commitment to providing a world-class education, particularly in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Medicine (STEM). Under her leadership, the Kwara State Government partnered with the university to upgrade the Omu Aran General Hospital into a teaching hospital. This initiative aims to enhance medical training and healthcare delivery in the region, showcasing TAU's role in community development and its commitment to producing skilled medical professionals.
